Our Mattress

Frequently asked questions about the Tomorrow Sleep Mattress.

What is the difference between the your Hybrid and your Memory Foam Mattress?

Our Memory Foam Mattress and Hybrid Mattress both 10″ high and contain temperature-regulating memory foam that will provide ultimate comfort and contour to your body on top. While both are premium quality and highly rated by our customers, our Hybrid Mattress also contains an individually pocketed coil system beneath that memory foam. Those coils provide greater support and perfect spinal alignment night after night.

What is a hybrid mattress?

We’ve designed all of our beds to provide the perfect balance of comfort and support through a premium temperature regulating memory foam on top and a gently stabilizing coil system beneath. Basically, it’s a combination of the two most popular mattress components to create the most comfortable sleep experience.

What is the difference between Medium Soft and Medium Firm?

Our Medium Soft mattress is designed to really hug your body when you lay on it. Our Medium Firm mattress has a more solid sleeping surface, while never feeling stiff. Both contain a mix of premium memory foam on top for comfort and wrapped coils for support, and each of these components are a little more dense in our Firm mattress to create the difference in feel.

Generally, we find that about 70% of customers prefer the Medium Firm to the Medium Soft, but it’s all up to your particular preference.

Will I get hot sleeping on your beds?

No way! Our hybrid construction combined with our patented ventilated rail system is designed to maintain a well-balanced climate for each sleeper in 3 ways:

  • Phase Changing Gel material incorporated into the top foam layers of the bed helps pull heat from your body.
  • Perforated outer-edge rails let air and heat escape through two sides.
  • Wrapped coils allow air to flow through the base of the mattress.
What should I put the mattress on?

Place the mattress on some type of platform to help provide the best support. Whether you choose to use a traditional box spring, an adjustable base, a platform bed, simple wood slats, or even the floor is up to you; all will work just fine!

What are the technical specifications and components of your mattresses?

Our hybrid mattresses are mostly a memory foam and steel coil construction, with only slight difference in the foam layers and coils between our Medium Firm and Medium Soft feels:

Where are your beds made?

Every Tomorrow mattress is proudly made in a Serta Simmons’ factory in the United States, specifically in Charlotte, NC.

What are the benefits of your pocketed coils?

Every coil is expertly crafted from durable high-carbon steel and flexes separately for head to toe support. The result is a stabilizing structure designed to support each of your sleeping positions and reduce motion transfer between you and your sleepmate.

Does it transfer movement?

Our hybrid mattress design incorporates individually wrapped coils that flex independently to provide personal support without disturbing your sleepmate. Likewise, the memory foam above it works to localize your motion and minimize its movement from one side of the bed to the other.

Will my body leave a permanent impression in the mattress?

Not at all! That is common on innerspring mattresses, especially with a pillow top. The top layer of memory foam found in Tomorrow beds is designed to conform to your body while you are on it and recover back to a flat surface within seconds once you are off it.

What is edge support?

On some beds, when you near the left or right side you can start to feel your body rolling off. Not the case on a Tomorrow bed! For an expansive sleeping surface with sturdy edges, we use a unique rail system that works to maintain the structure of the mattress. Basically, we utilize technology to keep you in bed and off your floor.

How does the hybrid mattress compare to my foam or spring mattress?

Our hybrid mattresses combine the best aspects of both foam and innerspring beds. The memory foam on top of our mattresses is very similar to what you would find in other foam beds, but infused with our patented temperature regulating technology. Generally, this layer will contour to your body more than the surface of a traditional innerspring mattress. Beneath the foam layers, our pocketed coils will provide the stability and support of an innerspring bed that one typically would not find in an all foam mattress.

How does Tomorrow compare to memory foam bed in a box brands?

Tomorrow Sleep is consistently rated higher than our competitors offering memory foam mattress, both by professional reviewers and real customers! Our mattresses provide a temperature-regulating memory foam layer on top AND an individually pocketed coil system beneath. These combine to give you the perfect balance of comfort, support, and cooling. In short, while you’ll sink in and sleep hot on their beds, you’ll float cool with Tomorrow!

What is a Tomorrow Mattress made of?

We use multiple foam layers (temperature regulating memory foam, transition foam, and poly support foam) on top of a system of pocketed coils made from durable high-carbon steel, framed by ventilated foam rails.

Can I buy your mattress at any stores?

Not just yet. Right now, all of our products are exclusively available here on our website.

How long will it take for the mattress to take shape?

Not very long at all. About 10 minutes after you open it up, the mattress should have expanded to over 90% of its total height. Within about 24 hours it should be 100% expanded (though you can definitely sleep on it in the meantime).

How long will it take to set up my new bed?

Generally, you should be able to get the mattress out of it’s box, onto your platform, and unwrapped in under 20 minutes.

Does the mattress resist dust mites and bedbugs?

While no mattress can offer total resistance, one advantage of the memory foam layer is that it is dense enough to make the living conditions unfavorable to dust mites and bedbugs. If these pests are a concern for your home, we recommend consulting with a professional exterminator to eliminate these threats before purchasing any new mattress.

Can I use a heating pad with your mattresses?

Yes, you can definitely use heating pads or electric blankets with our mattresses! The foam we use is not susceptible to being damaged by moderate amounts of heat at all. The only impact could be some short-term reduction in firmness while the pad is being used as memory foam generally softens slightly when exposed to heat (as well as firms when exposed to cold) but returns to its original feel once the temperature returns to normal.

How often should I replace my mattress?

We have found that the average consumer replaces his or her mattress every 8-10 years. Our warranty will guarantee your new Tomorrow bed for a full 10 years. So rest easy; we’ve got you covered!

What does the mattress smell like?

Much like the interior of a new car, our mattresses do have a bit of a “new foam smell” when first taken out of the packaging. That’s because they’re vacuum sealed in plastic wrap just after being made, and that wrapping locks in that scent until you unwrap it yourself.

No need to worry though if you’re not a fan of that foam smell; it should dissipate in a handful of days.

Are there any harmful chemicals in the mattress?

None at all. Tomorrow mattresses have environmental certifications that ensure they are safe and non-toxic.

Our foams are independently CertiPUR certified to be made without ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead and other heavy metals, formaldehyde, and phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. You can read more about our certification here: http://certipur.us/

Basically, the foam in your mattress is not only 100% safe for you, but it’s also good for the environment.

Is there any latex in your beds?

No, our mattresses are 100% latex free.

Will the sheets I already own fit on a Tomorrow bed?

Yes! While we offer our premium line of sheets specifically designed for the Tomorrow Sleep experience, any sheets designed to fit with standard US mattress dimension sizes will also work with your Tomorrow Sleep mattress.

How do you get the mattress into the box?

Well, it’s not easy. After construction our mattresses are compressed by a 60 ton weight and then vacuum sealed. It then gets folded over and and rolled before being boxed up and heading out to your doorstep.

How should I discard my old mattress?

Every local government has different rules governing large item disposal, so be sure to check with your local municipality for more information about discarding any unwanted mattresses.

If your old mattress is not torn or stained, another great option is to donate it to a local charity. Some charities, such as the Salvation Army and Restore by Habitat for Humanity can even assist in donation pickup all across the United States.

How much does the mattress weigh?

Due to the integration of innersprings in our design, our mattresses are both higher quality and a bit heavier than those of our competitors. Here’s a breakdown of the exact weight by size:

Twin Firm – 79 lbs Soft – 81 lbs
Twin XL   Firm – 82 lbs  Soft – 84 lbs
Full Firm – 98 lbs Soft – 102 lbs
Queen Firm – 110 lbs Soft – 113 lbs
King Firm – 132 lbs  Soft – 136 lbs
Cal King  Firm – 134 lbs Soft – 138 lbs
What are the sizes and/or dimensions of the different mattresses?

All Tomorrow mattress sizes run the same as the standard US mattress dimensions. For specific measurements, please refer to the dimensions as they are listed below:

Twin:       38” W x 74.5” L x 10″ H

Twin XL:   38” W x 79.5” L x 10″ H

Full:         53” W x 74.5” L x 10″ H

Queen:     60” W x 79.5” L x 10″ H

Cal King:   72″ W x 83.5″ L x 10″ H

Will the mattress compress again when people lay on it?

Since it takes 60 tons to compress our beds for shipping, you’ll be fine as long as you don’t invite 800 friends onto the mattress at once.
