Werewolves aren’t the only furry phenomena in Ryan Kelley’s life. The Teen Wolf star, a.k.a. Deputy Jordan Parrish, is a proud dad to his cats, Daryl and Carl. To him, they’re more than just companions — they’re his best friends.

While Teen Wolf wrapped its six-year run on MTV this past September, Kelley’s kept busy with new creative projects, competitive ice cream eating, and subsequent trips to the gym. We caught up with him to talk about how sleep gives him the energy he needs to sweat off every extra-large scoop.

What do you wear to sleep?

Ryan: I can sleep in underwear, shorts, or even pants. I just can’t wear a shirt.

Go-to late night snack?

Ryan: Peanut butter and bananas.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?

Ryan: Night Owl.

What is your bedtime ritual?

Ryan: I like to watch sports TV for about 20 minutes before turning everything off and going to bed.

What’s your favorite Tomorrow Sleep product?

Ryan: My mattress, because that’s literally the thing I spend heaps of time on whether I’m sleeping or not.

What else do you do in your bed besides sleep?

Ryan: I do almost everything in bed. I read books, watch TV, learn material for whatever job I’m working on, and even eat dinner.

What’s your biggest pet peeve when sleeping in bed with another person?

Ryan: I hate when people toss and turn all night. Doesn’t work out well for me.

If you could cuddle with anyone in the world – past or present – who would it be?

Ryan: My future wife, who hopefully wants to cuddle with me!

What’s the first thing you do when you get out of bed?

Ryan: I figure out what I’m going to eat for breakfast because I’m usually starving.

How does sleep impact your day?

Ryan: If I have a bad night’s sleep, doing simple things like making it to the gym or finishing small errands become huge projects.

What gives you energy throughout your day?

Ryan: Keeping busy helps me sustain my energy. As soon as I slow down I feel my body become sluggish.

Why is acting important to you?

Ryan: Acting is important because it’s something that truly makes me happy, and doing something you love is a huge part of finding happiness in life.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Ryan: I’ll never grow up, but I would love to continue being an actor. It’s a job with so many uncertainties that you just never know.

What’s on your bedside table right now?

Ryan: A phone charger, a bottle of water, and my current reading material.

What city do you sleep in?

Ryan: Sherman Oaks, CA.
